In the Nations Cup Team event the leader board was constantly changing and the final results were so close with a formidable new Swiss team just edging out a resurgent Italy under their new Swiss Chef D’Equipe Markus Fuchs. Germany just edged out the Netherlands for the Bronze.

In the individual competition France’s disappointment of failing to win a medal in the team was more than alleviated by Kevin Staut on the 11 year old Selle Francais Stallion Kraque Boom although he made an inauspicious start being only 19^th after the 1^st round of the Nations Cup.  However good performances in the next 2 rounds saw him rise up to 2^nd and when Albert Zoer lowered the first oxer in the final round the Frenchman was assured the Gold medal.
