Nine nations were represented by the fifteen riders in the FEI World Cup Dressage Finals in S’Hertogenbosch but once again two riders dominated in their latest head to head encounter, reigning Olympic and European Freestyle Champion Anky van Grunsven (NED), and Germany’s number one rider Isabell Werth.
Isabell rode her 2007 World Cup winning horse Warum Nicht and beat Anky and Salinero in the qualifying Grand Prix competition, but when it came to the ‘Kür’ Final there was only one winner as Anky and Salinero put on a breathtaking performance to their new routine, to record an amazing 9th FEI World Cup title for Anky.
Said Anky, “Normally I am quite critical of myself but I don’t think anything could have been better.”
