The FEI European Championships 2009 Show Jumping held at Windsor saw some dramatic competition.
In the Nations Cup Team event the leader board was constantly changing and the final results were so close with a formidable new Swiss team just edging out a resurgent Italy under their new Swiss Chef D’Equipe Markus Fuchs. Germany just edged out the Netherlands for the Bronze.
In the individual competition France’s disappointment of failing to win a medal in the team was more than alleviated by Kevin Staut on the 11 year old Selle Francais Stallion Kraque Boom although he made an inauspicious start being only 19th after the 1st round of the Nations Cup. However good performances in the next 2 rounds saw him rise up to 2nd and when Albert Zoer lowered the first oxer in the final round the Frenchman was assured the Gold medal.
Both team and individual competitions are covered in two 52 minute programs.
