Australian Clayton Fredericks had a first time win at the 2007 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day event riding Ben Along Time, in front of a record crowd.
He was followed by fellow Australian, two-time Olympic team gold medalist, Phillip Dutton. Second for the 5th time, Dutton was riding for America. Three-time Rolex champion Karen O’Connor placed third on her 14.2 hand ‘pony’, Theodore O'Connor, the first pony ever entered at Rolex.
Ian Stark of Great Britain, formally retired from Three-Day competition. Ian has been competing at the international level for nearly 30 years and ended his eventing career finishing 11th, with no jumping and only one time penalty, on his horse, Full Circle II, who is also retiring.
The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event is the only four-star 3DE in the Western Hemisphere. Running over four days it features the best horses and riders from around the world, vying for $200,000 in prize money and a chance at the $250,000 Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing. |
